Marina Holiday Tree Lighting Festival – Friday, December 14, 2018

The Marina Community Association is proud to present the inaugural Marina Holiday Tree Lighting Festival. 

This free festival will feature Food Trucks, Christmas Carolers, Live Music, a Beer & Wine Lounge, Face Painters, Demonstrations by SFFD, a visit from Santa Claus, and the first-ever lighting of the Marina Holiday Tree. 

The tree to be lit is a beautiful, 60-foot evergreen that has been growing on the Marina Green for years. The lighting ceremony will begin at 7pm – they recommend coming early and bringing the whole family!

2018 Learn to Skate Union Square presented by Kaiser Permanente: Free Lessons  - Saturday December 15th – January 20th

Kaiser Permanente invites skaters with little to no experience to the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square presented by Alaska Airlines to come learn from professional skate instructors every weekend.

Check in time is 8:15 AM - Standbys admited after 8:15 AM

Advance sign-up required. Space is limited to 50 participants per day. Please provide skate size, name, email address, phone number and experience level. Lessons will take place every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM throughout the season.

Reservations for next classes will be released one week in advance.

Winter Walk SF with Off the Grid – Union Square – from now until – December 31st 

Hosted by the Union Square Business Improvement District in partnership with Off the Grid, Winter Walk SF is a pop-up holiday pedestrian plaza that brings together the best of the season’s food, drink, music and interactive experiences over five festive weeks in the heart of downtown San Francisco. With mobile food and craft beverages curated by Off the Grid, spirited performances and family-friendly activities, as well as cozy nooks, whimsical, snow-capped backdrops and plenty of shareable moments, Winter Walk invites friends and strangers to stay, unwind and savor the convivial spirit of the holiday season. 

Winter Walk SF takes place daily from November 26 to December 31 on Stockton Street between Geary and Ellis (adjacent to Union Square Park). Daily operating hours are Monday-Wednesday 11am to 9pm, Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday 11am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 10pm and Sunday 10am to 8pm (closes at 5pm on Christmas Eve).

This event is FREE and open to the public.
